- Joe Thurston, 2B (BA #5): A favorite of Andrew Russell went 0-5 with a couple of nice defensive plays. The Ranger's were looking really close at acquiring Thurston at last year's trade deadline. He was all but given the Dodgers 2B job, but after not beating out Cesar Izturis or Alex Cora, he wound up back in AAA. Everyone still sees him as a major league infielder, but he is only hitting .275/ .353 /.375.
- Chin-Feng Chen, LF (BA #10): The Taiwan native was the Dodgers #1 prospect in 2001 but has fallen off in the last couple of years. Chen went 2-5 with 3 runs and an RBI and also has a plus arm. For the season Chen is hitting .294/ .376/ .459 with 3 HRs and 18 RBIs. Chen also still projects to be in the Dodger Blue, but the Brian Jordan, Shawn Green, Dave Roberts outfield doesn't look like it needs any help.
- Wilkin Ruan, CF (BA #19): Ruan is your typical great little defensive outfielder who struggles with the bat. I first became aware of Ruan in the Montreal system but was traded with G. Mota for M. Herges and J. Nunez. Scouts have compared his defense with Andruw Jones (I dont believe that), but the jury is still out as to where he projects. Ruan went 1-3 with 2 RBIs and is hitting .264 on the season.
- Gookie Dawkins, SS (BA Reds #20): We have always paid close attention to Dawkins, dating back to autograph chasing in Chattanooga. He was suppossed to be the heir apparent to Barry Larkin. He has had his shot in the bigs but never got it done. I am rooting for him, but if he does not turn it around he might never get another shot. Dawkins is on the interstate at .133 and I probably cant even call him a 4A player.
